High housing costs and its impacts on meeting basic needs

In California, middle-income single parents are facing significant housing challenges, with 77% of single parents being rent-burdened. In California, middle-income one-parent households are spending over half of their Net income on rent. This leaves little room to meet the basic needs essential for their families' survival.

At Mommy in the Middle our non-profit organization is dedicated to creating resources to support single parents in bridging the gap caused by high rent prices. We aim to assist single parents in the Bay Area in accessing the basic necessities they are struggling to afford due to the increasingly expensive cost of living in California. However, we cannot achieve this goal alone. We are calling on the support of our community and the voices of single parents across the state to validate the pressing need for assistance for working middle-income single parents in California.

If you are a single parent residing in the California Bay Area, we urge you to contribute to our efforts by taking a few moments to complete this brief survey.
